So, yesterday afternoon I saw The Monkey completely crash out on the couch. There he was, sprawled out, watching cartoons and snackin on his Pirate’s Booty, when his eyelids started to droop, and his hand went slack, and then you could hear the tell tale sound of his snoring.
I figured that this was a good thing, if he was going to be out late seeing a movie. However, I began to rethink my genius plan once I tried to wake him up an hour later and was met with someone who was not a Monkey as he had been before, but rather a Really Really Angry Demon who did not appreciate beiung woken up from his booty filled slumber.
After trying to convince him that we were going to have fun last night, we finally agreed on having a miserable time, at his request. So I loaded the very cranky boy in the car and headed towards Kitty’s, hoping that having her around would cheer the little punk up.
At the movie itself, he was phenomenal. So well behaved, even if he had to practically sit on my head to see the screen. Let me tell you, the revamp of the theatre was not that impressive, or kid friendly. At all. He laughed at all the right moments and smiled through most of the movie. There was one part, ten or so minutes in, where I got nervous when he leaned up and said “I’m done watching this”, but I managed to convince him to stick it out.
Afterwards we went to the diner, where he ordered his old standby - Pancakes, most of which are in the fridge, waiting for his descent to the kitchen in search of breakfast.
All in all, it was a good night and I enjoyed spending it with such a cute little boy.
